Topping-out ceremony for innovative modular building at the University of Augsburg
The topping-out ceremony for the new modular building at the University of Augsburg was celebrated on the main campus in the presence of State Minister Christian Bernreiter.
The new research and laboratory building, consisting of a three-storey office building supplemented by a two-storey laboratory wing, was constructed in record time.
Through the use of wood in the facade design, a green facade and the heat supply via district heating, this building relies on an environmentally conscious construction method.
Within just six months of construction, the modules were put together and the building now shines in its final form.
This rapid construction progress is not only a technical success, but also an important step in the modular construction offensive as part of the high-tech agenda.
The architecture and general planning was carried out by WGA ZT GmbHAs part of the general planning team, we were responsible for structural planning, building physics and building services.
